The Everyman's House was designed and built in Kalamazoo, Michigan, by Caroline Bartlett Crane, a prominent social activist and minister in Kalamazoo's early history, was also winner of Herbert Hoover's "Better Homes of America" campaign.

This box contains various interests of C.B. Crane. During the 1920's thru mid 1930's she was concerned with anti-war movements: Peace Ship, Disarmament, Preparedness, League of Nations, and political candidates who favored her views. During this period she was also actively involved in a committee to obtain Rowe's Island, in the Kalamazoo River between Comstock and Galesburg, for a state park.
