Dwight Bryant Waldo served as Western Michigan University's first president for 32 years until his retirement in 1936. He was born in Arcade, N.Y., June 13, 1864, in the final year of the American Civil War and was noted for his scholarship on the life of Abraham Lincoln. He died Oct. 29, 1939, at age 75.

Scope and Contents These two programs were for the 13th (1907) and the 14th (1908) annual banquets of the Lincoln Republican Club of Kalamazoo County both held at the AUV Auditorium on Portage Street. The programs contain a list of officers, music, menu, program and committee members for the event including the Reception Committee. There also are the words for the song, "America."
