Burnip’s Corners Public School Program
This collection is comprised of one vertically-folded program for the graduation ceremony of the Burnip’s Corners Public School Class of 1890 located in Salem Township, Allegan County. Events were held at 8:00 PM on June 21st, 1890. On the inside are listed various ceremony events, and on the reverse side the names of the six graduates are given.
Burton C. Waite Diaries
The collection is composed of two diaries written by Burton C. Waite from Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1889 and 1890.
Burton Edward Fischer Collection
The collection consists of one booklet containing lyrics and sheet music for five songs composed and published by Burton Edward Fischer. They are “Laddie,” with words by Mrs. N. W., “Absence,” “What’s in a Kiss,” “A Message,” with words by Daniel Derby, and “Saint of Sinner,” with words again by Daniel Derby. The opening page notes that the group of songs are dedicated to Burton J. Lenihan, and that the booklet is priced at one dollar.
Byrd-Leach Family Photographs Collection
The collection contains thirty-six photographs from the Byrd and Leach families from Michigan and Ohio dating from 1880 to 1929.
Those pictured are sons-in-law, children and friends including Pauline Johnson; Essa Byrd’s family including Mary Katherine’s husband, Charles H. Smith, and her sons Robert Adrian Smith, Harold D. Smith and Frederick D. Smith.
C. John Vander Weele Collection
This collection is composed of negatives and photographs of all sizes. The subjects of these photographs are largely employees of The Clarage Fan Company. The collection also includes some artifacts related to the production process of fans.
