The Miscellaneous Ephemera series includes several small donations of materials made by various donors: WWII period maps and postcards from Germany and Eastern Europe and ephemera from the post-WWII American occupation of Japan (the former donated by WMU Librarian, Maira Bundza, and the latter donated by WMU alumnus (Class of 2012), Tyler Baker.

The items contained within this collection date from the era of Charles Clarage’s son, Harry Clarage. During the time of Harry Clarage, the company experienced an expansion in scope, and a subsequent need for facility expansion. In 1957, Clarage Fan Company upgraded from their previous plant of 200,000 sq. ft. to one of 340,000 sq. ft. From there, the company continued to thrive, was seen as a lucrative opportunity to outside investors, and was purchased by Twin City Fan Companies Ltd. in 1997....

This collection contains letters documenting Thomas Zerbe and Walter Boylan’s service in the United States Navy during World War Two. Correspondence between Charlotte Zerbe, previously Charlotte Boylan, and her brother Walter Boylan who served in the US Navy during World War II. Walter Boyland was stationed temporarily at Western Michigan University during 1943 for training. Also includes are five other letters by Boylan.
