Scope Note: Greeting cards that are sent or given as expressions of goodwill at Christmastime. The first Christmas cards were made in the 1840s in England. The tradition is followed in all English-speaking countries and the practice is growing in many others.

Scope and Contents From the Collection:

Black and white and color photographs of Esther Louise Lane and class composites from her teaching career in Parchment, Michigan. Majority of the photographs are from Esther's years teaching at South Elementary and Central Elementary in Parchment, Michigan, from 1945-1980. Also included are several Christmas cards from students and a large photograph of the Western Michigan Alumni Glee Club.
