Biography
Western Sound Studios is both a full-service commercial recording studio and a teaching facility in the School of Music at Western Michigan University. The studio records many of the School of Music's ensembles both in live performances and studio recordings for commercial release.

Scope and Contents
Candace Anderson and others found information about women in Michigan History through diaries, letters and other secondary sources. The women she included were Madame Magdelaine LaFramboise, Pamela Thomas, Sojourner Truth, Mary Wallace, Madelon Stockwell Turner, Jenny Justine Jokala, Viola Corrigan and Josephine Casey. The back cover lists the other artists that aided her in the production of this record.
