Biography
founded in 1919 by Jack Mills (1891-1979); name of the firm was changed to Mills Music, Inc. in 1928; the company was put up for public sale in 1964 and bought by the shareholders of Utilities and Industries (U&l;I) Corporation; in 1969, U&I transferred ownership of its Mills Music stock to the newly formed Belwin-Mills Publishing Corporation.
