Biography

Established in 1910, the Kalamazoo Real Estate Board sponsored the Kalamazoo Complete Home Show with the first one held in 1924. The booklet comes from the second Home Show held from Monday, February 16 until Saturday, February 21 at the Armory on East Water Street between North Burdick and North Edwards Streets. The event had over fifty display booths that would cover building, remodeling, furnishing and decorating your home. Hours were Monday from 7:00p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday from 2:00p.m. to 10:30p.m. with admission at .25. A number of companies had displays ranging from appliances, furniture, equipment, home décor, plumbing supplies, radios, home hardware, decorative items and real estate. The Kalamazoo Gazette had both articles and advertisements about the event. People were encouraged to acquire the booklet which said, “This book is valuable and contains much interesting and useful information. If you will look it over, you will be glad to file it away for future reference.”
