Biography
Shirley Van Hoeven was a WMU Professor of Communication. Van Hoeven served WMU’s faculty in 1971 as an instructor in the Department of Education. About eight years later, she was named the department’s graduate program director and advisor, a position she held until her retirement in 1999. For a full biography, see her in memoriam.
