Biography
William Chamberlain was born to Moses Chamberlain and Rebacca Abbot on 02 February 1934. At nine years old he accompanied his parents from New England to New Buffalo, Michigan. In 1864, he moved to Three Oaks, Michigan, and became a factor in mercantile life as a dealer in hardward and general merchantise from 1864 to 1890. The business was conducted by the firm Chamberlain, Warren and Hatfield company. He was also connected with the Warren Featherbone Whip Company and the Warren Featherbone Corset Company. William Chamberlain is the brother of Henry Chamberlain, the founder of Three Oaks, Michigan.
