Scope and Contents

R. H. C. Davis's notebook containing his personal index to sites visited, referenced, studied and documented in other notebooks of this collection. The notebook is organized by alphabetically by the name of English counties and ends with Wales. Davis's title on the front cover reads: "English County Index, to Archaeological Notes (Wales in back cover)". The notebook opens with two photographs of an interior of a cathedral. Note: the index refers to notebooks using the Davis's personal numbering system.

Illustrations include: Includes two photographs inserted between leaves 6 and 7. The first photograph shows the nave, chancel arch, and a chancel with choir and sanctuary of St. Oswald's Parish in Malpas, Shropshire, England. The view features a closer view of the stained glass window than the second photograph. The second photograph is a wider view of the chancel and includes the nave. On the back of both photograph are handwritten descriptions as well as stamped text reading: "A.A. Bush Photographers."
