Venice, Aldus Manutius, 1499; the first illustrated book printed in France, Speculum Humanae Salvationis, in French, Lyons, 1478; a remarkable Missal with embroidered engravings made for the Duchesse de Berry ; Henri Estienne's annotated copy of New Testament commentaries in Greek, Veronam 1532; Rousseau's annotated copy of Montaigne's Essais, Paris, 1652; the only fifteenth century edition of Cessolis's Game of Chess in Italian, Florence, 1493-4; first edition of William Harvey's work on the circulation of the blood, Frankfurt, 1628; the travelling catalogue of the Spencer Library in 240 volumes, preserved in its original mahogany chest.)
