A Babylonian clay tablet, ca. 2500 BCE with Cuneiform Characters. The development of clay tablets are man's earliest form of writing and are attributed to the Mesopotamian culture. This tablet is from Babylonian Excavations. It was purchased in Amuda, Syria.

Scope and Contents

A Babylonian Cylinder Seal, ca. 1700 BCE with Sumerian inscriptions. Excavated at Amlash, Mesopotamia, these seals were the signatures of the Babylonians. Each man's signature was different, and the images often depicted something about the owner. This includes the seal itself as well as the inscription relief on a portion of clay.
