The Kalamazoo Musical Society formally was organized in 1912 although one of these programs is for a concert they held in December, 1911. The organization was made up of a group of local singers and instrumental performers who held concerts around various sites in the City. Every May the organization held a May Festival which was a two-day affair with three concerts which starred the Minneapolis Symphony, visiting guest artists and members of the Kalamazoo Musical Society Chorus. It is not know yet how long this organization was in existence although there are programs that cover concerts to 1924. The city directories and the Coller file give no information.
