Scope and Contents
Wayne Falan claimed to have kicked off the ball for the opening game of the 1941 season at Waldo Stadium and that that football is the one in this collection. Doug claimed that his father told the story on many occasions.

This item is a football donated by Doug Falan, son of Wayne Falan, who served as captain of the 1941 Western Michigan University football team.
Physical Description
The football arrived significantly deflated. No effort was attempted to reverse this. There is some scuffing along the ends and sides, but the football is otherwise in good condition. The stitching is tight and shows no signs of fraying. Tissue paper is wrapped around the football with more situated at either end of it in the box.
