The collection amounts to .05 cubic feet and is 5.75” x 8.75”. It is composed of one ledger owned by Alvin Jones of Dunningville, Michigan, which is located in Heath Township in Allegan County. It is dated from 1866 to 1876. The ledger consists of various receipts and names from the years 1866-1868, 1871-1872 and 1876 and includes the list of customers’ names and what they bought. This included cowbells, kerosene, tobacco, bourbon whisky, and smoked ham. Lumber was also sold to various clients. It lists the wages for people working in the mill, on the mill gate and breaking the log jam. An entry for Dunning and Hopkins showed, “dinner for 9 men, hay and grain for horses, 80,000 shingles for Willison and 1829 feet cull lumber for Calkins."
