Claude Robinson Ledger
Scope and Contents
Claude Robinson (1880-1957) lived in Leonidas, Michigan. He owned a blacksmith shop where he occasionally created custom cabinets, shelves etc. His shop was located downtown on Main Street in Leonidas. He worked until he passed away at age 77. This ledger contains all expenditures and transactions that took place from January 1, 1908-August 30, 1909. He frequently did shoeing jobs and repaired buggies among other tasks. Dr. Syndergaard’s notes on the ledger are located in the donor file.

Physical Description
The ledger is roughly 11.5" x 7.5" in size. The cover and binding is in rough condition. The corners of the spine have begun to peel up and the fabric covering the book has fade marks. There are places where the fabric covering has begun to pull up. The pages are yellowed and worn. Many of the entries written in pencil have smudged, making it slightly illegible. There are some dirt smudges throughout the ledger.
Provenance
The Collection is made up of a ledger donated to the archives as part of the Dr. Larry Syndergaard Collection. The ledger dates from 1908-1909 and relates to Claude Robinson’s blacksmith business.
