Oliver J. Bloom Ledger
Scope and Contents
The ledger belonged to Oliver J Bloom (1861-1933) of Parkville, St Joseph Co. Michigan. According to Census Reports Bloom was a farmer in St Joseph Co. where he married Dora Clark of Ohio in 1893. The couple had four children together, two sons and two daughters. Bloom documented transactions, mainly of hardware and tools, in the ledger. The transactions are categorized by person and then are further broken down by year and date. The first few pages contain an index which lists the page numbers for each individual.

Physical Description
The cover of the ledger is worn. The corners have been torn up. There are stains and fade marks on the cover. The spine is intact and in good shape. The pages are yellowed, but in fairly good condition. There are minimal tears in the pages and the writing is legible. Some of the red ink has smeared. Some pages have been torn out of the ledger. “119 Elm St” is written in pencil on the front cover of the ledger. The staples in the binding are beginning to rust.
Provenance
The Collection is made up of a ledger donated as part of the Dr. Larry Syndergaard Collection. The Ledger dates from 1892-1897. The ledger is 12.5" x 7.5" in size. The ledger contains transactions that took place between 1892-1897.
