Weinbrecht Family Farm Record Book
Scope and Contents
The Frank Weinbrecht Farm Family Record Book from 1963 is the documentation of their farming and family needs over the course of the year in Hastings, Barry County, Michigan, conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Famer’s Home Administration. This record book documented the farm’s livestock, equipment, and property’s expenses and production sales. It also documented the family’s personal finances and spending needs throughout the year, including debt payments, and family living and home improvements.

Biographical / Historical
The Weindbrecht family consisted of the head of the house, Frank Karl Weinbrecht (1921–2004), his wife, Joyce Ester Fisher (1928–2006), and their seven boys and three girls, according to the information provided by the family in this record book. Frank Weinbrecht was born on March 9, 1921, Terre Haute, Indiana by his father Albert and his mother Amelia. Frank joined the military in 1943, and later married his wife, Joyce Ester Fisher in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on June 4, 1954. Two years later the couple moved to Hastings, Michigan, where they began to farm and start a family. According to Hastings, Barry County atlas of 1963, Frank owned 160 acres in section 3 of the area.

Physical Description
This collection amounts to .05 cubic feet and is composed of one Farm Family Record Book from 1963 that is 11 ½” in height and 9” in width. The cover of the record book is held together with two staples and thick, green construction paper. The pages inside are composed of thin, smooth paper that have lines and print on them for information to be filled out.
The cover and pages inside are slightly wrinkled and have staining, but overall is in decent condition.
