Scope and Contents

This collection contains letters from Myran Faulkner to her friend in Louretta Stevens. Myran writes from Grand Rapids to Louretta in Kalamazoo. Myran was born in 1869 and was 18 when she was writing these letters. These two knew each other’s families. Myran talks about Louretta aunt and uncle who also live in Kalamazoo. Myran also talks about her family and what they told her to tell Louretta. There are various other people that are briefly mentioned in these letters, a Charlie and a Peter. Three are also other towns that are mentioned including paw-paw, and Muskegon. Louretta moved to Kalamazoo presumably from Grand Rapids by way of train. Louretta’s name may not be spelled this way it seems to be spelled differently on the letters, and on some of the letters there are addressed to her as Nettie as well.
