Physical Description
The collection is one cubic foot. The documents are all in good condition. Contents range in size from 8.5inX11in. to 4inX5in. All of the documents are typed. The ink is dark and legible. The report booklets are in good shape. The coloring of the pictures in the report booklets are still vibrant.
Provenance
The collection was donated by David Slesdet. The collection was originally owned by Erwin Slesdet, who worked as the cost accountant for Sutherland Paper Company. The Kalamazoo Sanitary Carton Company was renamed the Sutherland Paper Company in 1917. In 1959 they merged with Kalamazoo Vegetable Parchment Company to become the KVP Sutherland. In 1966 Brown Company merged with the KVP Sutherland. In 1980 the company was taken over by the James River Company. In 1995 James River was taken over by Crown Vantage, Parchment. The company closed in 2000.
