Biographical / Historical
Beginning in the early 1990’s, the Kalamazoo-Pushkin Partnership was founded by Janet Ferguson after a trip to Pushkin in Russia. The city of Pushkin was in great need of supplies after the fall of the Soviet Union, and some of the later members of the group helped to get them supplies. When they met the supply crate in the town, they began to create friendships with many of the local people. The Kalamazoo-Pushkin Partnership became the Kalamazoo Russian Cultural Association in 2011, but their goals of helping Pushkin and spreading Russian culture in Kalamazoo are the same.

Physical Description
This collection amounts to 1.0 cubic feet, and contains a wide range of documents. These documents include printed email messages between members of the group about the Russian Festivals, pamphlets for the Annual Russian Festivals, and newspaper articles. Many of these newspaper article’s topics deal with Russia or Russian performances in the United States. There are also a number of photographs located within the collection. These documents are mostly email messages.
Most of the documents are in good condition. Some documents have been bent or folded, but none are torn or damaged permanently. The photographs are also in good condition.
