CableVision Guide
Scope and Contents
The front cover features characters from Archie Comics, as well as the dates that the guide covers. The guide includes a variety of different stations, new movies available on network TV, tips for cable TV, and lists which shows air at which times. The show list and times are printed on pink paper in contrast to the rest of the guide, likely to allow the reader to jump straight to the schedule and find it easily. Some pictures or one-panel comics are included along the schedules, sometimes pertaining to the shows airing, like the image of Scooby-Doo alongside its first episode airtime. The guide also includes some information about sports, events in Kalamazoo, an application for Western Michigan University sports tickets, and other little miscellaneous writing pieces.

Biographical / Historical
With the invention and spread of cable TV in the late 1940s, guides like these were published by cable providers so that consumers could find out what was being shown and when. Fetzer CableVision, a division of the Fetzer Broadcasting Company, brought the service to Kalamazoo in the 1960s, with The KalamazooViewer published every two weeks by the company. WKZO was also previously a Fetzer-owned broadcast. Besides the Fetzer Broadcasting Co., its founder John Fetzer was also known for being an owner of the Detroit Tigers and creating a directional antenna that would allow for broadcasting at night. Fetzer CableVision was eventually purchased by CableVision of Michigan in 1987.

Abstract
The collection is composed of a CableVision guide for the Kalamazoo Viewer in 1969.
Physical Description
Folded, the booklet measures 8.5 inches by 11 inches, while unfolded, it measures 17 inches by 11 inches. The booklet is in excellent condition. There are a few small ink smudges on the cover, and some discoloration on the pink pages, especially around the edges and the binding, but aside from that and another ink mark that may be the product of a misprint, there is little damage to the pages. The binding has held up well, and there are no visible tears or creases.
