The Farmers Pocket Ledger appears to be a general guide produced by the John Deere Company and distributed to several hardware or farming stores. This ledger served as a personal guide for farming tactics while also promoting and advertising the products and tools the John Deere Company had to offer.

This collection is mostly comprised of family letters, dealing mostly with the Holden and Ashley families. The range of dates is from 1858 to 1964. Although the majority of the letters are between 1858 till about 1920. These letters are mostly addressed to Harriet and Jerome Ashley from their children, Harriet’s siblings and their children. Harriet and Jerome lived in Calhoun county Michigan for a majority of their lives.
John Frederick Monroe journals
This collection consists of two journals written by Ensign John Frederick Monroe (1921-1986) of Muskegon MI. The journals detail daily life of John F. Monroe during his service in the US Navy from 1943-1944 while stationed in Panama during World War Two.
