Biography

The Riverside Pony Farm was owned by Frank B Lay and Henry Lane, founders and owners of the Michigan Buggy Company and later Michigan Motor Company. Shetland ponies were raised on the farm averaging more than 200 head. The Riverside Pony Farm and Michigan Buggy Company became known for the “Tony Pony” line and provided convenient one stop shopping for customers. There is evidence in local newspapers that the farm provided quality ponies via awards at fairs and customer testimonials. Was located near East Vine. Dates of operation unknown.
