The collection is composed of a foldout pamphlet featuring ponies for sale by The Riverside Pony Farm in Kalamazoo, MI. Owners Henry Lane and Frank B. Lay. Pamphlet is dated approximately 1909.
Caption on front of document says “Partial List of Ponies Ready for the Market and for Sale by The Riverside Pony Farm”. Inside are lists of colts, fillies, mares, stallions, and geldings for sale with illustrations.

Biographical / Historical
The Riverside Pony Farm was owned by Frank B Lay and Henry Lane, founders and owners of the Michigan Buggy Company and later Michigan Motor Company. Shetland ponies were raised on the farm averaging more than 200 head. The Riverside Pony Farm and Michigan Buggy Company became known for the “Tony Pony” line and provided convenient one stop shopping for customers. There is evidence in local newspapers that the farm provided quality ponies via awards at fairs and customer testimonials. Was located near East Vine. Dates of operation unknown.

Physical Description
The collection amounts to .10 cubic feet. The foldout pamphlet is approximately, when folded out in entirety, 27” x 10.5”. Single sheet of paper is smooth in texture. The item was previously folded in quarters resulting in creases down center of item and across the middle. Places where creases meet are fragile with small holes appearing. Illustrations and photos of ponies inside and outside. Item is in fair condition with some fading and discoloration. The item is printed in black and white.
