Nelson Curtis was born in 1921, Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Bessie and Homer Curtis. When the scrapbook was created, 1934, the family lived on 811 Harrigan Court, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Curtis died in 1984, Mishawaka, Indiana, and was buried in Mount Ever-Rest Cemetery, Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Nelson Curtis was born in Kalamazoo, MI in 1921 to Bessie and Homer Curtis. In 1934, when the scrapbook was created, the family lived on 811 Harrigan Ct. and his father worked as a printer. His family attended the Kalamazoo Missionary Church. Curtis graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in June 1939. After a couple years, he attended Western Michigan College to study education.
