Administrative Building 88

 Series

Scope and Contents

The renowned Administration building #88 on Portage Rd. was the epitome of the international style architecture at the time and won many awards for being such an exemplary building. Material in this series uses the original folder names starting with a "Real Estate" heading to preserve the original order of the records.

The records for this building start in 1956 when the planning stage began, and end in 1961 when the building was finished and employees were moved into the building. This material documents the entire process that went into planning and constructing the building which includes the contract with the contractors, the first full conceptual blueprint of the building, cost estimates, space estimates, interior design choices, monthly progress reports of construction, and finally the closing report that was given to the top executives.
