Abstract
This collection is composed of 4 diaries detailing the daily activities of Margaret Poinier Bird, her husband, Charles Harold Bird, and their two daughters Margaret and Barbra Bird. The diaries document their travels across the United States and most of Europe from 1930 - 1932. In addition there is a large scrap book with many postcards and some photographs from their travels.

Nelson Curtis was born in Kalamazoo, MI in 1921 to Bessie and Homer Curtis. In 1934, when the scrapbook was created, the family lived on 811 Harrigan Ct. and his father worked as a printer. His family attended the Kalamazoo Missionary Church. Curtis graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in June 1939. After a couple years, he attended Western Michigan College to study education.
