Abstract

The collection is composed of programs from the Academy of Music dating from 1882-1910.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of one booklet containing lyrics and sheet music for five songs composed and published by Burton Edward Fischer. They are “Laddie,” with words by Mrs. N. W., “Absence,” “What’s in a Kiss,” “A Message,” with words by Daniel Derby, and “Saint of Sinner,” with words again by Daniel Derby. The opening page notes that the group of songs are dedicated to Burton J. Lenihan, and that the booklet is priced at one dollar.

Scope and Contents Candace Anderson and others found information about women in Michigan History through diaries, letters and other secondary sources. The women she included were Madame Magdelaine LaFramboise, Pamela Thomas, Sojourner Truth, Mary Wallace, Madelon Stockwell Turner, Jenny Justine Jokala, Viola Corrigan and Josephine Casey. Abstract

This collection is composed of materials from the Fontana Festival of Music and Art and the Chamber Music Society, covering a period of 1980 to 2014. The summer festival was held for many years at The Art Emporium in Shelbyville, Michigan. However, year-round concerts are currently held at several venues in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The collection is composed of sheet music of four songs composed by George L. Trombley (1883-1963) from 1912-1917 as well as a brochure for the Kalamazoo Conservatory of Music and Associated Arts from 1925 or 1926.

Scope and Contents One of Kalamazoo’s oldest music organizations, the Kalamazoo Bach festival was founded by the Professor of Music at Kalamazoo College, Henry Overley, in 1946. He wanted to bring the town together to experience the joy of making music and create something inspiring, in particular, to recreate the instrumental music and choral of J.S.
